FUN FACTS:
- The falls actually flow over an extinct volcano more than 20 million years old. A team of geologists recently located volcanic rock that was tested and proved. Previously, most believed the volcanic rock was attributed to Mount Persis.
- Since appearing on Twin Peaks, one of the most popular television shows during the 1990s, tourists have marked this particular spot as one of the best places to visit in Washington State.
If possible, go when the river is at or near flood stage. The more water going over the falls the more impressive it is and the more noise it makes.
